London Fitness: Spinning

Back in the days before I actually owned a studio membership and developed a class addiction, I used to go to the gym weekly (or at least I went through phases where I went weekly) and use the equipment on offer. That inevitably involved a bike because that something I could figure out how to use without hurting myself. However, when it comes to exercise classes, in the past I have shied away from spin classes. They’re hard the first few I did I didn’t enjoy as much as other classes, however I have slowly started to come round to it. Plus, one thing all my spin classes have had in common is that they are a very good workout.

Eight green spaces to find in London

I have spent the majority of my life living in the Kent countryside – pretty in the middle of a field where there’s more sheep than people. It was very picturesque – sprawling green fields, lambs jumping around in the spring and ducklings hatching in my back garden – but I prefer the hustle and bustle of a city, and London could not be more hustley and bustley if it tried. Plus I like Domino’s too much to ever be in that kind of shape. But I figured I do have it in me to at least try barre – a kind of ballet-inspired aerobics workout. That’s probably the closest I can get. Continue reading “London Fitness: Barre & Ballet”

Four places to stuff yourself with Lebanese food in London

I’d never given much thought to Lebanese food until the first time I actually tried some. I haven’t looked back since because my first mezze feast was so tasty. I now jump at the chance to get me some Lebanese food and these are the places I have found so far: Continue reading “Four places to stuff yourself with Lebanese food in London”

A Visit to Alexander McQueen’s Savage Beauty at V&A Museum in London

Months ago, I received a Facebook message from a friend who wanted to get a group together to visit the Alexander McQueen exhibition – Savage Beauty – when it arrived in London. It’s reputation had landed from New York before the exhibition had got here itself and so, at first, I was very up for going. Then I saw the ticket price – £16, which is not great for a girl on a budget. For that reason, I turned her down.
