My Bucket List

There’s so much of the world I’d love to see and what seems like so little time to do it in. With that in mind, and when in doubt, I find a list is usually the best way to sort things out. Then when I start to panic again I’ll write it again.

I can’t imagine my bucket list will ever actually go down since there will always be new things I realise I want to do but it is still satisfying to cross things off. I didn’t realise that half those things were even on my bucket list until I actually did them and looked back in hindsight.

  1. Hello Ellis! Lovely blog. I am a travel/ adventure enthusiast and your bucket list is quite similar to what mine looks like. I saw you #51 item and I have a great suggestion of a travel club that organises amazing volunteering trips in africa and other continents. If you’d love to have a look, let me know..cheers

  2. Wonderful list … so vibrant and full of energy and I can see you accomplish with all your pending ones 🙂 I can help you with point no. 38 for sure. 2014’s day has gone but surely you can plan for 2015 Holi festival…

    1. Thanks for your comment 😀 I would love to go to the Holi festival next year but sadly I think it may take me longer to save 😦 but hopefully one day in the not too distant future I’ll make it!!

  3. Yeah, it’s worth a shot. Fun it is here.

Do you mind if I ask you to tell me how you fund all your travel moves? I’ll love to travel across the world, but as usual funding is always a constraint. I hope if there’s any way of earning money while traveling the world 😉 Is there any? 🙂

    1. There are certainly ways of earning while travelling. I’ve never done it that way- I’ve always worked at home alongside my studies to pay for travelling- but I have friends who have taught abroad, worked in hostels/bars/restaurants or done jobs such as fruit picking. There are also websites such as Work Away, where you can work in return for accommodation, or couchsurfing. Hope that helps!

  4. I really don’t know how to thank you Ellis.
Workaway website is such an amazing opportunity to travel across and meet people of different countries. I just want you to talk to any friend of your’s and understand how was their experience. (Sorry if I’m asking too much). You may wish to inbox further talks. My email id is … help me connect with them. Thanks again. Super deal ! 😉

  5. Love the list! You’re very lucky to have done all the things you’ve done. If you ever need a travel partner, I’ll be in Brittany, France for two years and plan on getting out a lot!

  6. I had no idea I wanted to do half of the things you’ve listed here, but now reading them they sound incredible, and it sounds stupid but it’s completely opened up my eyes to the fact we do only live once, and the world is brimming with opportunities and new experiences! You’ve travelled fantastically, and please make sure you keep us all updated on your progress!

  7. Great bucket list! Very similar to my own, though I haven’t traveled as extensively as you have yet. Also, it includes some gems that I hadn’t even thought of, but will add to mine now!

  8. Hi Ellis, good to know that Bali on your list 🙂 Btw, Bali is in Indonesia’s country anyway 😀
come and visit Indonesia.. many beautiful beach in here ^^
It was nice to click your blog.. 🙂

  9. Hi – great list!
I am also a list lover and wanderluster and can definitely get behind a lot of what you have put on your bucket list. Just a quick correction (from someone from that part of the world) – Hadrian’s Wall is technically in England, whereas you have it under Scotland on your list. By the way, can definitely recommend interrailing! Happy travelling!

    1. Thank you!! I’m glad you agree with my choices!
Thanks for the correction – I didn’t know that!!
I have heard that interrailing is awesome, I’m hoping to interrail around Italy in the not too distant future!

  10. Hey, I love your list it has inspired me to put thought into creating my own!
Just one question, volunteering on the Galapagos Islands, what is it that makes that location so special for you to volunteer in that location specifically?
    Happy travels!

    1. Thank you, that’s really nice to hear! The Galapagos Islands are meant to have some amazing wildlife that area unique to the area so that’s why I’d really like to go! Happy travels to you too!

  11. Love your bucket list! Antartica is definitely on my bucket list too. I have travelled from Darwin to Uluru, Australia (an Australian myself) and highly recommend the trip, beautiful hidden water holes to swim in, breath taking sunsets and of course the endless red dirt in Central Australia!

  12. Great bucket list Ellis! I bet sleeping on a beach in Honduras and exploring the Pyramids of Giza must have been incredible! I would also love to go snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef and see the Northern Lights too. Your bucket list is so amazing, I hope you eventually get to cross everything off 🙂

  13. hello from Malaysia.
i’ve checked your bucket list and i can say that it does motivate me in having my own bucket list. i am just starting to travel as much as i can though my work doesn’t really allow me to do just that. but hey, i’ve been to bali before and i can see that you haven’t got any specific things to do there. you should hike Mount Batur. trust me, the view from that still-active volcano is worth every aches you’d get from that almost 3hours (or less) hiking.

and should i suggest you to come to Malaysia and climb our most renowned mount Kinabalu. and you can also go for a dive in Sipadan Island and experience yourself the beauty of our underwater world.

till then, good luck and may you will be able to cross-checked all of the lists that you have. =)

    1. Hello from England!
Thanks for your comment and for the tips! I really want to go to Bali but I have no idea what to do if I make it so that is very good to know!
I have never been diving but would love to so fingers crossed I get the chance to come back to Malaysia and explore Sipadan Island!
      Happy travels! 😀

  14. What an awesome bucket list Ellis! I’m from Australia and haven’t yet travelled from Melbourne to Darwin through the Red Centre but that’s on the list for 2016. Look forward to following you on your travels. Great looking blog!

  15. How great is this ??!! Really good idea, I would like to make also a Bucket List. Very inspiring, thank you.
I love to travel and write about my experiences, so maybe you can also have a look on my blog.

    All the best, Pia

  16. I love how you’ve made this bucket list and ticked it off on here – such a great idea. I just have more of a “places to eat” bucket list, which is far less exciting than yours!
