Dusseldorf Street Art

  1. I think one of my favorite things about Germany (and Denmark and Sweden, too) was how much public art was just part of the urban scenery. I’m from the US, where “graffiti” or “street art” is synonymous with vandalism, so it’s great to see examples of why that’s not always the case.

If you’re into cool street art, you might want to check out Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. I lived there for a year and a half, and in the time I was there, there was this crazy burst of street artists and events. What’s really cool is how — because graffiti and street art never had those negative connections with vandalism and crime — it’s almost universally appreciated, even by more conservative folks.

Have you ever been to Vietnam? Should be your next holiday!

    • I agree, I was in Berlin last year and found the street art there amazing. I think there is quite a bit of street art in certain areas of London but I need to go on a hunt to find it!

That sounds fantastic, I have been to Ho Chi Minh City but sadly I didn’t get to see any street art- I guess I will have to go back!
